Earn Six College Credits Before Graduating From High School

The University of Miami Summer Scholars Program is an exciting opportunity for current high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors to explore their academic passions and experience college life. Students selected for the three-week scholarly program or two-week UM Academies will have the opportunity to:

  • Choose from 23 academic areas taught by UM’s distinguished faculty
  • Earn six college credits in three weeks, or experience our two-week, non-credit UM Academies
  • Live on campus for an immersive college experience, or commute
  • Take classes with high school peers from the U.S. and abroad
  • Learn from a student-centered curriculum and engage in numerous hands-on activities
    Explore UM’s rich amenities and South Florida’s unique treasures through chaperoned educational and cultural excursions - including an airboat ride in the Everglades, snorkeling in the Florida Keys, attending a Marlins game and enjoying Miami’s beaches
  • SSP students receive a tuition savings of more than half the standard UM undergraduate cost per credit*
   
Dates: Summer Scholars: Saturday, July 4 - Friday, July 24, 2020
UM Academies: Saturday, July 4 - Friday July 17, 2020
Eligibility:

1. Minimum grade point average of 3.0 (Based on a 4.0 scale)
2. Grade Level:
Three-week Summer Scholars Program: High school sophomores and juniors
Two-week UM Academies: High school freshmen, sophomores and juniors

Deadlines:

Early Action - December 1, 2019
Priority Application Deadline - February 1, 2020
Scholarship Application Deadline - March 1, 2020
General Application Deadline - April 30, 2020
Rolling Admissions opens May 1, 2020

*Based on the UM 2019-2020 undergraduate semester tuition and fees rate. Courses, schedules, tuition, and fees are subject to change.
